2019 Chevrolet Blazer - Old Iconic Name With A New Look
That’s right the Blazer name is back! But not quite what you were expecting.
For those of us who are old enough to remember the old model which was in production from 1969 to 1999 will be happy to hear the news of this iconic name coming back. The original version was a four wheel drive, full frame, with a small block V-8; which was commonly used in the 90s to early 2000s by teenagers to pick up girls.
This new 2019 version, however, will not be used for that, not unless you’re a married man picking up your wife and kids from the mall to head over to soccer practice.
So why did Chevrolet build this so-called “Blazer”? Easy, Chevrolet already provides multiple options across all segments of the SUV market with their five crossovers and SUVs line up, but they don’t have something that fits the two-row mid-mid-size crossover segment. This is where the Blazer comes in, it will be the equivalent of GMC Acadia model.
So obviously this isn’t the Blazer we wanted, however, it is the Blazer that buyers of today want, and that sucks for die-hard car people.
Here is what we know so far about the mainstream Blazer, it will be good looking, with a front grille that looks similar to the Camaro ZL1, and it will look muscular, so much so that if you look at the Lamborghini Urus, the Blazer has a similar aggressive look. As far as the structure, it will be sharing the same bits as the GMC Acadia and the Cadillac XT5. It will also be a five-passenger SUV with lots of room for activates like camping or your weekly grocery run.
You will have two options for the engine, the base 193-horsepower 2.5-liter 4 cylinder or the more attractive 305 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6.
