More And More Pieces Of The Corvette Being Passed To The Camaro
If you are a little brother or sister then you are well aware of getting their hand-me-downs, well, I’m happy to say the Chevrolet family is no exception.
The Chevrolet Camaro is expected to get the C7 Corvette’s manual transmission for 2019. This isn’t the first sibling trade from Chevy, as the Camaro already shares a few V-8 engines choices with its big brother.
I expect the seven-speed manual gearbox will be paired up with the Camaro’s SS 6.2 liter LTY1 V-8 engine which is the same base engine used in the Corvette Stingray. It is likely that Chevy will also add an eighth gear to the gearbox when combined with Camaro’s supercharged ZL1 as that engine is the same one used in the Corvette Z06.
I think this is fantastic as I am a huge fan of the Corvettes and their tech, sharing that with other family members only helps with research and development, which means the company can offset those costs and continue to develop more and better things.
Then again this is just speculation, lets see what Chevrolet says over the next months.
